About Our Family

Family Labradoodles is a small, home based Labradoodle breeder in Yorktown, VA, raising multigenerational Labradoodles and Goldendoodles as part of our own family. We have been doing this a very long time, and our dogs are an integral, loving part of our lives.

Breeding has always been a family affair. My sister, Martha, and I have long been partners in the raising, breeding, showing, and training of wonderful, family oriented breeds, even after she moved from Tidewater, VA to the other VA: Sisterville, WV. I still have not forgiven her, but we still remain sisters and partners.

Labradoodles and Goldendoodles are well on their way to becoming the ideal choice for so many families, and for so many reasons. These dogs are sound, intelligent, and allergy friendly, but they also have a little something else: empathy. They sense, they feel, they care, and it is nothing short of extraordinary.

We take that responsibility to heart. Many breeders are involved in developing this designed breed, and we believe it deserves careful, thoughtful, and educated breeding that keeps improving the health and dispositions we already know and love. That is why we are proud members of GANA, the Goldendoodle Association of North America.

Our family-raised Labradoodle puppies grow up in our home, never in a kennel. From birth they are handled and weighed daily, kept warm, clean, and safe, and socialized early, so they are confident, gentle companions by the time they go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age.

Our grown dogs live the same way. They have freedom to run and play and just be dogs, to swim and dive after a ball, and to join the neighborhood Doodles at our Doodle Dog Park every Saturday morning.

Our home in Yorktown sits midway between Richmond and Virginia Beach. Families from Richmond, VA, Virginia Beach, and all over Hampton Roads are welcome to come meet us, and we are happy to meet you up to 2 hours from Yorktown when that makes your trip easier.
